A small indoor camera that actually sees the whole room, tracks what moves, and doesn't light up a nursery like a nightlight.
THE WEEKLY EDIT
One issue a week of things we actually tested — five minutes to read.
EDITORIAL NOTES
I was tired of cameras that look great in daylight but turn into grainy messes by 8pm. This one actually picks up the room in low light — I can see my dog curled up on the couch after sunset without squinting. The night vision doesn’t have that creepy red dot either, which matters when you point it at a kid’s room.
Auto-tracking surprised me. I didn’t think I’d use it, but when my cat jumps off the sofa, the camera slowly turns and follows her. It sounds gimmicky, but it means you don’t have to manually pan around wondering where she went.
The thing I use most is checking on my kid before bed. I tap the app, the camera turns to the nursery, and I can see she’s asleep without opening the door. No red light shining on her face, no noise, just a quiet check. Pair it with a Hub and you also get the room temperature right there on the screen — handy when you’re adjusting the thermostat from work.
It doesn’t feel like a security camera. It feels like a way to check on things when you’re not home, which is what most people actually want.
